ACTIVATE: Capacity building and training in HIV/AIDS
treatment and management across Europe
ACTIVATE was an initiative that sought to
increase the training capacity of those involved in the clinical
management of people living with HIV/AIDS across Europe.
Using the expertise of the four major European clinical HIV/AIDS
networks (PENTA, CASCADE, EuroSIDA,
EuropeHIVResistance),
training programmes and curricula were developed and capacity
building programmes in HIV/AIDS management were created.
The ACTIVATE training courses covered a broad range of relevant
topics in HIV/AIDS treatment and management, combining onsite
training and online distance learning methods, and where necessary,
simultaneous translation.
The important work of ACTIVATE is being
continued as part of the EuroCoord
Training & Outreach WP2.
The ACTIVATE courses resulted in a broad range
